I Can't Believe That I Am Going to Share This...

My mom was a second grade teacher for many years.  When she retired, I inherited her "empire."  I carried box after box after box of awesome teaching stuff to the bonus room above our garage.  And that is pretty much where it has stayed.  Until now.  I am in the process of turning the bonus room into my office.

I would LOVE something like this:

or this:

Here is my reality.  Please don't judge me!

YIKES!!!  I PROMISE the rest of our house does NOT look like this!  I have just been at a loss as to where to start.  I got the bookshelf for free from the secretary at my school, and my husband just bolted it to the wall for me tonight (I've had it for a month and a half.  sigh.)

So you can see that I have made some progress....sorta...kinda...okay not really, I just want to make myself feel better!  Hopefully I can find a happy medium between my two dream rooms and my in real life room!

I hope to be able to post "after" pictures soon!

Happy Saturday!

  1. Good luck! Can't wait to see the "after" pictures :) Don't worry, seeing that others have a messy part of their home/classroom makes me feel a bit better - remember, we're all just human!!

  4. Ha ha I have a room that looks like that except it's filled with hunting clothes, fishing poles and everything else that goes with those two things! And sometimes the rest of my house DOES look like that!
    Good luck.

  6. Jealous that you have a room to put your teaching stuff in! I have my living room floor and I hear things from my hubs about my piles of blah blah blah all over the pace :( Can't wait to see how you fix it up :)

  12. I have a room like that! I had a break-in once and after the police checked the house they made a comment about that room being ransacked...I had to tell them nope, it ALWAYS looks that way!

Over Christmas I finally threw away some things I had not used in 9 years. Thursday I needed one of them!!!

I cannot wait to see the after shots!

    Enjoy your weekend! =)
